What will you get when you book a lesson at Sundridge Park?  

You get a coach who will be able to impart the knowledge gained from continuing study and work with one of the best coaches in the game Dr Jim Suttie, having studied in the past with many eminent coaches including David Leadbetter, Chuck Cook, Dr Rick Jensen, Beverly Lewis, and Martin Hall. I know if you make a commitment to practice just a little, I can really help you regardless of age, ability and body shape. 

What is my teaching philosophy?  

It was the German philosopher Nietzsche who once said 'there is your way, there is my way, but there is no the way'. That sums up nicely my thoughts on the golf swing. I have found that as time has gone on, the customer has become more discerning. They realise that golf swings cannot be the same, Craig Stadler must have different fundamentals to those of Davis Love III, nature has taken care of that and is the sole reason why the golf swing has to be customised to fit the person. 
 
I have written for four golf magazines Golf Monthly (1995-2002), Golf Business (1997-1999), Play Better Golf (2003-2006) and Golf World (2010-current).  

 John Macklen – Senior Asst Professional 

John Macklen has been a part of Sundridge Park for over 20 years. Joining as a junior member in 1998 at the age of 15, he was both junior captain and champion in 2000. In the following 9 years he represented both club and county collecting team and individual silverware. 

The highlight was becoming both the Kent County Champion and Club Champion within 7 days in 2007.  

In 2010 he joined the PGA and became a fully qualified member in 2013.   

His teaching is based on sound fundamentals, impact factors and structured practice. 

John is Senior Club fitter at Sundridge Park and his mission is to ensure that golfers are using equipment that gives them their best chance of shooting their lowest score. He has been a Golf World contributor on equipment and club fitting on several occasions.  

John currently leads the Academy Membership Scheme and has been succesfully running it since 2013.  (applications are now closed).

His interests off the course include cycling and swimming. 

John is married to Clare, an elite distance runner, and they have a daughter named Jessica. 

 Ainee O'Connor

Ainee has  been a member at Sundridge Park since she was 10 years old.   She has been Ladies Club Champion three times consecutively.  Most recently, Ainee was at college in the States on a golf scholarship at Lenoir Rhyne University.  While in the States, she was named 2020 South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Player of the Year, 2020 SAC Women's Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year, 2020 SAC Elite 20 and she is a four time WGCA All-American Scholar. 

After graduating in May 2020, Ainee returned home and turned Professional.   She started working at Sundridge Park in December 2020 and is teaching all standards.
