Sundridge Park Golf Club

Past Captain Colin wins the Patterson Sword

Friday 5th July saw the annual Past Captains Guest Day held on our East Course with a shotgun start.

President Frank Weaver, Club Captain Paul Jackson & Vice Captain Ciaran Burns were joined by a further 14 Sundridge Park Past Captains with three guests each.

Playing in a team competition with the best two from four counting top honours were won this year by Past Captain Colin Murray and his guests with a creditable 91 points winning on count-back from Past Captain Steve Smith and his guests.

Everyone gathered on the terrace before dinner for a photograph which included over 60 Past Captains from Sundridge and other clubs throughout the South & Southeast.

Golf was followed by an excellent dinner attended by Sundridge Park’s oldest and most senior Past Captain Ron Cox (99) with his lovely wife Kristal and Past Captain Victor Sturdee (95).

Prize Giving saw our President present Past Captain Colin Murray with the rare & prestigious “Patterson Sword” donated to the club some years ago by Past President and Captain Ron Patterson QPM.

The Past Captains gave thanks to Nick Parrot & Catherine Murray for their help in registration and scoring and to Chef Bo Minoo and club steward Arun D’Souza and their teams for looking after them so well. Huge credit was also paid to fellow Past Captain Tony Negal for all his efforts to organise such a great day.

Congratulations to Colin Murray and his team; winners of the Patterson Sword
