Jude drives in as Lady Captain

Jude Mackenzie ‘drove-in’ as the new Lady Captain on Saturday 24 October. It wasn’t the usual event with champagne and cheering crowds but the people that were there clapped as Jude put her first drive down the middle of the fairway prior to playing in the Drive-In competition.

Michelle Quinlan, the previous Lady Captain, had putted out beforehand and the two of them repeated the ‘putt out, drive-in’ at the beginning of the Tuesday Drive-In competition, too, so that a wider group of ladies could see.

Sadly, the weather didn’t behave for either event, but a brave group of ladies turned up anyway to play in the competitions and then enjoy a drink on the windswept terrace or at the single tables inside. The Sundridge Ladies are nothing if not brave. 

Jude’s charities for the year will be Christian Aid and Bromley Mencap.
