Royal Blackheath Trophy (SEA) returns to Sundridge Park

After an absence of 20 years, Sundridge Park GC have again won the South East Association (SEA) Royal Blackheath Trophy after a narrow victory over Cherry Lodge GC at West Kent Golf Club on Monday 7th October. In a final between two evenly matched teams there was very little in the early games, with Cherry Lodge having a slight edge. However a strong finish, winning the last three games convincingly, gave Sundridge Park victory by 4 1/2 - 3 1/2.

The winning team, captained by Phil Gore, was Peter Young, Dave Gibbons, James Horgan, Brian Chessum, Peter Meehan, Ross Marley, Ralph Bull and Ian Davies.

Every player had a caddie, who all played an important part in the team effort, and special thanks to those for their help and encouragement.

Many thanks to club captain Alex, president Anthony and all the many other club members who supported the match.

Thanks also to Nigel Dews, Gary Dulieu, David Parkyn, Clive Waddington and Clive Wood who all played for the team in this year's competition.
