On a beautiful autumn day at Bearstead GC the sun shone down on the victorious Tappin Trophy team of Sandy Charlick, Michelle Quinlan and Farah Diggens. It was a fantastic win against a very strong, competitive Chislehurst team, but our girls delivered! This is only the second win for SPGC in the Trophy’s 23 year history, our only other win was in 1996, although we have reached the finals at least twice previously. My congratulations and thanks also go to Rose Yazdani and Sandra Nadin whose sterling efforts in previous rounds helped the team reach the final. I am so proud of all of you, but that’s what Sundridge is made of. The backbone of any successful team are our caddies, Sandra, Stuart and Terri they kept us cool and calm throughout the matches, they were terrific. My thanks also extend to our loyal supporters who will turn out in any weather, LC Rose, Alan, Wally, John, VC Lyn, and Elaine L. It is great to see the red on the course it’s a real boost to our moral.
It is a wonderful end to my captaincy finishing on such a high after just loosing out to Princes in the finals last year. Never give up. Well done the team!
