Ladies Captain's Prize 2018

Ladies Captain's Prize

Sunday was a beautiful hot summers day with 14 ladies playing on the East Course.  There was some very impressive scores with Christine McGarry winning with a great score of 40 points which took 1st place and after the scores on Tuesday, the overall winner of the Ladies Captains Prize Trophy.  Congratulations and well done Christine.

Well done to Wendy Yuen with 37 points which put her in 2nd place and close behind with 36 points was our 3rd place winner Helen Kennedy.

We all enjoyed Pimms and afternoon tea on our lovely terrace, followed by prize giving.  Thank you to Shela Maine-Wyncoll who unfortunately had to play a knockout on the same day, but joined us afterwards and helped with prize giving.

Tuesday was a little cooler but still very enjoyable weather which pleased 41 ladies.  A nice relaxed atmosphere with Pimms and afternoon tea in our dinning room…it was a little too chilly on the terrace!

The winners of the day was Kim Morris in 3rd place, an eagle on the 6th hole gave her a score of 36 points.  Amanda Spooner in 2nd place on countback, also with 36 points. But our winner of the day in 1st place was Christine Edgar with 38 points.

Jude MacKenzie was the winner of the 9 hole competition.

Well done to you all.

My thanks must go to Joyce Bond and Janet Allread for doing such a wonderful job on registration. Their help is greatly appreciated which made my day very relaxed and enjoyable.

Thank you to our starters, Club Captain Tony and to our very loyal Terry Lambourne.  To our rangers Bill and Reg, to Paul Rudkin and green staff.

Ben Price on both days was a great help, so thank you Ben.  Nothing is ever too much for Suman and team who were so helpful with getting the dining room ready after deciding it was a little windy on the terrace and of course to the kitchen for supplying a very scrumptious afternoon tea. Thank you all so much for your time and effort.

Thank you to Lyn, our ladies vice Captain who entertained the ladies whilst reading out the results and our resident ladies event photographer, Michelle Quinlan who does such a great job clicking away!

Last but not least, thank you to all the ladies for the support I had on both days for my Ladies Captain’s prize days.

Rose x
