2016 Junior Open

The Sundridge Park Junior Open was held yesterday, 2nd August. Played over 36 holes on the East Course, 33 junior golfers battled for top honours.

In the morning round, defending scratch champion, Taron Donovan (Royal Blackheath) again set the pace with a gross 74, with Mason Essam (Dartford) and Joseph Harpley (Rochester & Cobham) two and three shots respectively behind.

The three boys would carry their form through to the afternoon round shooting 73, 74 and 78 respectively to finish top three overall. Congratulations once again to Taron who is the Sundridge Park Junior Open Scratch Champion!

In the handicap competition, players from Chislehurst set the early pace with Arran Kanna leading after the morning with an excellent nett 69, closely followed by Joseph Allen (70).

In the afternoon Arran's nett 73 saw him drop down the overall standings as Joseph powered ahead with a tremendous nett 62 to take the overall crown shooting nett 132 for the day. Sundridge Park's Charles Reynolds moved through into 2nd overall shooting nett 71, 67 for 138 total to fly the flag high for our home players, with Benjamin Hegarty (Chislehurst) finishing 3rd overall scoring nett 140.
