Sundridge Park Captain, Elaine Lopategui, combines Golf and the Euros for fancy Charity Day

In a departure from the normal golfing attire, more than 100 supporters of the Sundridge Park Lady Captain’s Charity Golf Day made up teams and took to the fairways of the East Course in fancy dress to represent each of the nations competing in the UEFA European Championships.

The charity day coincided with the opening game of the Euros (10th June) and amongst the fabulous costumes on show were Gladiators from Italy, Matadors from Spain, bow ties and bowler hats from England, Berets and Onions from France, daffodils from Wales, and even Mother Theresa from Albania made an appearance!

The event was superb fun for all involved and, most importantly, a terrific sum of over £7000 was raised which will be donated to Marlborough School in Sidcup, being Elaine’s chosen charity for the year.

The Headmistress of Marlborough School, Linda Lee, attended the evening dinner and auction and was overwhelmed by the support shown by members of the golf club and guests. She offered her sincere thanks to Elaine and everyone involved in organising such a wonderful day for a great cause.
