International Matches – 13th August 2017
The first of this seasons International Matches (after the first mach was postponed earlier in the year) took place yesterday on the East Course – the course was in excellent condition and altogether 68 Golfers took part on the day – both sets of matches were very closely fought (except for the England Captains match!) and the Scotland team defeated the Irish by 4 – 3 and the Rest of the World (Rotweillers) narrowly defeated England by 5 ½ - 4 ½ and the terrace was full after the game with players enjoying what SPGC is all about – having fun
The day commenced with Coffee and Pastries which seemed to be a popular alternative to Coffee and Bacon Rolls and after the Golf a traditional SPGC Ploughman’s buffet lunch was well received.
The next match is on Saturday 16th September at 09.00 on East Course with ROW taking on Ireland and England battling against Scotland – the final match of the season will be Saturday 14th October (time tba) with ROW playing Scotland and England playing Ireland
