Yesterday saw the first two rounds of the Waterford Trophy played over the East Course.

Halfway Scores

In the morning, a gross 66 from Alex Stubbs (The Oxfordshire) led the way, closely followed by Ross McCarthy (Bush Hill Park) 67 and Joe Long (Lansdown Golf Club) 69.

The afternoon again saw good scoring, with Noah Hessey (Long Ashton) 67 leading the way. Last year's winner James Walker (The Oaks) and Jack Gaunt (Drayton Park) shot 68, and Daniel Hendry (Brickhampton Court) and Thomas Plumb (Sherborne) were close behind with 69.

After two rounds there was a three way tie at the top with James Walker, Ross McCarthy and Alex Stubbs leading the way on -3 (139).  The halfway cut (top 40 and ties) fell at +8 (150) with 42 players moving through to today to finish up with 36 holes over the West Course.

Please come along to the Club today to see these top amateurs in action, and if anyone fancies helping out, we would appreciate help ball spotting!
