Business ladies celebrate working 9-5 at Dolly Parton evening

Sundridge Park GC saw a celebration like no other last week (13 November 2015) as the business ladies league end-of-season dinner featured a country and western theme and a Dolly Parton lookalike competition.

74 ladies, from eight local clubs, attended the dinner which is traditionally hosted by the previous year’s winners who also choose a fun activity to keep everyone amused.  Each club was invited to put forward a contestant to perform a Dolly Parton classic, and there were some creative and impressive performances, including a few appearances by Kenny Rogers and one club acting out the entire lyrics of Dolly’s morality tale “Harper Valley PTA”.

Nizels were double winners on the night – very impressive as it’s their first year in the league.  They came top in the quiz and Dolly competition and also were presented with the trophy for winning the league final which was played against Sundridge Park at West Kent golf club in October.

Some comments from the participating clubs who all had such fun and made the evening a great success:

Jacky, Chislehurst
Just to say a huge thank you on behalf of all Chis girls to you and your colleagues for hosting  such a fab evening - the best one so far beyond doubt!
We had so much fun - I'm still laughing at the videos people took!!!  Your hard work really paid off and was much appreciated - Evelyn certainly had a good send off and Mary was last seen packing her bags for a retreat!!!
Well done again and see you sometime!

Nicky, Croham Hurst
On behalf of all the ladies from Croham Hurst I would like to thank you and your team for a fantastic and highly memorable evening.
We had a really terrific time, truly getting into the spirit of Dolly Parton World!
The whole night went very smoothly and it was great to see everyone so involved. Nizels have a lot to live up to next year!
Please pass on our thanks to everyone, including the bar/waiting staff who were very attentive, patient and helpful amongst a very rowdy bunch of girls.
Please see below for a link to the video of evening which I put together, including clips from our rehearsals for 9 to 5,which you might enjoy!
Many thanks again. Here's to 2016!

Tracey, West Kent

Broke Hill
On behalf of all Broke Hill ladies thank you for a wonderful evening.
Very well run good food company and entertainment.

Carol Turl,Lady Vice Captain, Nizels
It was a fabulous evening, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and there's talk of Nikki Bell (our outgoing captain who came with us last night) going back to work so she can be part of it all!!
We have a seriously tough act to follow, we love a challenge so hopefully you won't be dissapointed next year. The date, to remind you all, is Friday 18th November, and by then I will have taken over the reins as Lady Captain.
I also meant to request that you tell your girls to note any amusing anecdotes during your matches next season and please report them to Pat at the end of the BGL season prior to our dinner.
Thank you all for giving us a fantastic indoctrination into the BGL.
Very best wishes for a lovely festive season and look forward to getting to know more of you next year.
